It was supposed to give the rider the feeling of sitting on a horse, whilst also bringing along cheerful pony charm and whilst being sturdy also showing strong movement and good performance.
I found all these features in the breed description of the Welsh Cob and when I met the first Cobs in person, I became infected with the „Welsh fever“. Today I have three Cob brood mares, one stallion and their offspring and my two riding Cobs Sian Cariad and Camelot, living on our small farm. All in all between 10 and 15 horses.
The breeding, the appropriate keeping and an affectionate but consequential upbringing of the horses is the main focus of my work and does not leave much time for anything else.
A good opportunity to thank my husband Bernd, who is not at all interested in horses, for his endless tolerance, his consistant willingness to take over chores with the tractor, and his patience with which he endures endless enthusiastic stories about ponies, with all my heart. Without him there would be no Merit Welsh Cobs.
